After years centered on everyday suburban life, beautiful (albeit limited when compared to previous game gens) lands, careers, and quirky hobbies, The Sims 4 is preparing to crown its next major chapter! Royalty & Legacy, the 21st expansion pack for the beloved life-simulation game, is set to release on February 12, 2026, and it brings with it a sweeping reinvention of the way players tell stories in the Sims universe.

Royalty & Legacy lies a brand-new world, Ondarion, a coastal kingdom rich with opportunity, drama, and intrigue. Ondarion is divided into three unique regions, each with its own mood and narrative flavor. From artistic enclaves to shadowy backstreets of political maneuvering, this world invites players to step outside typical suburban life and build something truly monumental.
What makes this expansion stand out isn’t just another set of furniture items or a new mini-game, it’s systems that fundamentally shift how your Sims interact with the world. Players can now guide entire families over generations, shaping legacies of power and influence with the new Dynasty system. With the new Prestige and Unity meters, you can track your family’s standing as you climb the social ladder. And don’t forget the new Scandals! Forbidden romances, hidden secrets, and even political intrigue become the center of your Sim’s royal narrative.

Along with these fascinating new systems, we of course have to have new content to make the gameplay even more fitting for a royal! With the new Noble career, you rise through aristocratic ranks to enter positions of power and responsibility. The new Swordsmanship skill is perfect for settling disputes… or possibly impressing that certain Sim. And speaking of impressing, there’s a new Woohoo location within a secret passage, because come on – what palace or castle is truly complete without one? And finally, we will have a new Backroom lot type, which is perfect for completing the real power moves without prying eyes or meddling journalists.

Of course, what’s royalty without a wardrobe and a palace to match? Preorders for Royalty & Legacy include access to the Grand Bundle, which adds ornaments and royal attire. Those who pre-order by March 15, 2026 will also get TWO bonus kits, Tea Time Solarium and Silver Screen Style, which will add refined decor and dramatic fashion options.

The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy isn’t just another expansion, it’s a narrative evolution. With its launch on February 12, 2026, we are poised to explore a world where family legacies span generations, prestige is a currency, and drama isn’t just a possibility, it’s inevitable. Whether you’re a seasoned ruler or a scheming courtier, this expansion invites you to write your Sims’ fate upon the grandest stage yet!
