If you’ve been staring longingly at the upcoming PC release of Iron Nest, clutching your favorite controller and weeping soft, console flavored tears, I have some news that will make you want to do a little victory roll.
The developers have officially confirmed to us at the Parlor that yes, Iron Nest is headed to all major consoles!!!
Cue the confetti! Clear some hard drive space! Prepare your couch for maximum comfort!
But before you go trying to pre-order it on your storefront of choice, let’s talk about the timeline. The devs are keeping things realistic, which means we’re playing a bit of a waiting game.

The Release Roadmap, or When Can I Play It?)
Here is the breakdown of how this rollout is looking, according to the master plan:
PC Launch: Currently locked in for July/August.
The “Target Window” for Consoles: The team is aiming to deploy the console ports roughly 3 to 4 months after the PC version drops.
Exact Dates? Still a mystery. The devs noted it’s “too early to discuss specific timing,” which is code for “please don’t hunt us down if a bug delays things by a week.”
To make things easier for your brain to process, here is a handy dandy speculative timeline:

Platform Expected Launch Window
PC (Steam/Epic) July to August
Major Consoles Late Autumn to Early Winter (Think Oct – Dec)

As mentioned prior, these dates aren’t concrete, but are used as an industry standard for PC to Console releases seen previously. Now, why look forward to Iron Nest? Well, beyond it being a diesel punk mech lovers dream, it’s all about the intensity of piloting a massive vehicle in a world devastated by war. You have to work to maneuver your towering fortress into position to deliver the most impactful barrage you can. It’s a genre in gaming that has really come to fruition within the past few years

Looking at games like Void Crew, Star Crew, Star Trek Bridge Crew, and even Sea of Thieves can fall into that category, this newer genre has been quickly rising. I mean, why wouldn’t it? Who wouldn’t want to pilot awesome vehicles with their friends? Or in my case solo because I have no friends…

So, why the Delay?

Look, we all want games now, but giving the devs a few months to port things over means we will hopefully avoid the classic “Day One Console Disaster” trope. No one wants a UI designed for a mouse squished onto a gamepad, or frame rates that dip into the single digits when things get chaotic.
Think of the PC players as the brave frontline scouts testing the waters. They’ll find the bugs, the devs will squish ’em, and by the time Iron Nest hits consoles, it’ll be polished to a mirror shine.
If you are a PC purist, your summer is sorted. If you are a couch warrior, or a bed knight like me, you’ve got a fantastic autumn treat to look forward to. Seriously, why wouldn’t you like playing video games wrapped up in cozy blankets?
Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated of this upcoming release.
